Come to Villach, where bizarre rock formations and lush green Alpine meadows await! Our town is guarded by the Dobratsch, Villach’s local mountain, which you can reach in a good four hours from the Villach Alpenstraße car park, which is about a ten-minute drive from our hotel. The Mittagskogel in the Karawanks also guarantees pure happiness at the peak. On the Gerlitzen Alpe, on the northern shore of Lake Ossiach, you can hike on panoramic circular trails, climb challenging peaks, and refuel with tasty dishes in rustic Alpine huts. The Gerlitzen Alpe is also a popular starting point for paragliders. Time seems to stand still while hiking on the Verditz in the Carinthian Nock Mountains. The spectacular panorama and the special feeling of being in nature are all that matter.
Jogging or Nordic walking?
Around the Karawankenhof, both activities are beautiful in their own way. Those who like to walk across the idyllic landscape will find numerous Nordic walking routes in Warmbad-Villach. We would be happy to help you plan your route. Would you rather go jogging through the Carinthian lake-dotted landscape? Then we have a highlight for you: Our spa hotel is located directly on a 50-kilometre network of jogging trails. You will also find plenty of jogging possibilities on the Alpe-Adria-Trail.
Up high – in the truest sense
There are many places to climb in and around Villach. Families can burn off some energy on the Kanzianiberg mountain with a total of 300 routes, including numerous beginner routes and easy via ferratas. Meanwhile, experienced climbers can feel the thrill on the rugged rock towers of the Carnic Alps. If the weather doesn’t play along, you can climb on the 2,000m² of climbing space in the Villach climbing hall – whether you prefer rope climbing or bouldering, it’s all there!
